Description

On the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar, the Department of History, L. J. N. J. Women's College, Vile Parle (East), Mumbai - 57, in collaboration with the Department of History, S. N. D. T. Women's University, Mumbai, the Department of Archaeology, University of Mumbai, and the Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Konkan Province, is organizing a one-day national seminar on the topic: “Contribution of Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar to History and Indian Culture”
Objectives of the Seminar:
• Exemplary Leadership & Governance – To explore Ahilyabai Holkar’s administrative decisions, inclusive policies, diplomacy, crisis management and their societal impact.
• Cultural, Economic & Heritage Contributions – To examine understand her role in intellectual and cultural enrichment, economic development, trade promotion, community upliftment and heritage conservation.
• Legacy & Modern Relevance – To draw parallels between her leadership and contemporary governance, inspire academic research and highlight her influence on diplomacy, heritage preservation and women’s empowerment.

Expected Outcomes

On occasion of Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar Tri-Shatabdi Jayanti Varsh, this seminar aims to bring together scholars, researchers and subject experts to discuss her exceptional leadership, governance model, economic and diplomatic strategies and contribution to heritage conservation. Through discussions and research presentations, the seminar will provide deeper insights into her lasting legacy. The research papers and key seminar findings will be compiled and published, making her life and contributions accessible for further academic study and public understanding.
